AISM was established in the year 1999 under the dynamic leadership of Ms. Lata Munjal, Ms. Bindu Mittal, Ms. Kiran Bajaj, Ms. Anjana Sudhakar, Ms. R. Braganza, Ms. Perin Bagli, and Ms. Asma Kantawala.

AISM is registered as a Society under the Societies Registration Act 1860 in the year 1999. The Executive Committee comprises of a President, Vice President, and Secretary/Treasurer.

ICSE Schools in Maharashtra believed that they should come together to form an Association to discuss issues pertaining to Council schools and  provide a platform to empower School Heads to upgrade the teaching faculty and organise activities both in Literary Events and Sports for the students of member schools. Teachers can upgrade their knowledge through the various Training Programmes with resource persons from the Council’s office in Kolkata.

The Principals of member schools meet once in three months to discuss various issues pertaining to education, legal matters, right to education, CISCE examinations, competitions and matter pertaining to the National Body ie. the ASISC.

Initially there were 22   schools which joined the association as members and gradually the member list has grown to 236 and is still growing. Newly affiliated schools need to first become a member of AISM then only can they become a member of the National Body that is Association of Schools for the Indian Certificate – ASISC. Member schools can log on to www.asisc.org for more details on our National body.

MISSION / VISION

AIMS to examine the educational leaderships and the new demands expressed by the ICSE schools in all the regions of the Indian subcontinent. The range of tensions and dilemmas faced by teachers and leaders, who lead the learning processes is enormous. AISM is a forum for scholarly work and learning, a rich social area with constant interaction and affiliation.

REFLECTS the key elements of the CISCE Council of the ICSE Schools, in a collaborative, democratic commitment, along with individual enlightenment.

EXPLORES the relationship between ICSE schools’ Principals Leadership and Student Achievements, and focus and extend themes in educational research globally.

VIEWS all the time, in considering what kind of education will best prepare students for life in a knowledge society? and so, we offer appropriate workshops and training for the school leaders.

ADDRESSES most of the extra-curricular programs with specially emphasis on physical health and technology, by promoting annually interschool competitions, to improve the quality of each of these components. We have the AISM Sports Meet for achievers to compete at National Level, the ‘gizmo geeks’ interschool techno-fest and the other literary and the Arts competitions.
